What grows beneath a golden seat? Follow its roots to the hungry ground. When the taking ends, the living still need tending.
The summons calls the gods by the things their thrones have received.
Blood. Incense. Grain. Song. Fear. Prayer. Children.
The list will not let a beautiful offering conceal the life taken beside it. It reaches storm and river, mountain and underworld, the powers that protected their people and the powers that fed on them. Then the Ring of Benefaction addresses them directly:
“You are not summoned because you are small. You are summoned because you are powerful. And power is answerable.” [M4] (§0)
This is the Elohim Summons, Official Memorandum 004. We have already followed Bal, Molech and El through encounters that changed their place in the world. Now the demand extends across divine offices and the systems operating under their names. A throne has to answer for what happens beneath it.
Before the powerful begin to explain
The first command is short: stop.
Stop taking children. Stop feeding on fear and shame. Stop draining the worshipper who has been taught that refusal itself will bring punishment. The explanation can be heard after the taking ends. [M4] (§9)
Think of the person who wants to leave but fears what leaving will do to their family. Their hand can reach the door. They may even have somewhere else to go. But they have been told that leaving will bring catastrophe upon someone they love. The threatened consequence follows them to the threshold. The old boundary declaration names such arrangements as manufactured traps. Calling the arrangement natural cannot supply the missing freedom to refuse. [OLD-BOUNDARY] (Appendix A)
The summons also gives a frightened power ways to answer. A being whose name has been impersonated can request review. One held captive can ask for extraction. One afraid of retaliation by its own followers, rivals or fragments can ask for sanctuary. These are different conditions, and the response has to distinguish them. Meanwhile, the harmed are to be protected. [M4] (§18)
The declaration goes to the throne. The people beneath it remain inside the circle of care: a grandmother lighting candles, a child raised in a tradition, a survivor who held to a sacred name through a terrible night. None becomes an enemy because a power is under review. No human may turn this summons into permission to attack a worshipper or a place of worship. [M4] (§§6,17)
The force behind the words
A command to stop has to reach the places where the taking continues. The summons therefore prepares containment, evacuation and sanctuary together.
For a power that keeps feeding, the Silver Net brings dimensional nets, Ward Veils and a cordon through dream space. HELIOS contributes intention scanning; SELENE contributes stabilization. A HYPERION lock and TITAN perimeter can hold the boundary at scales where an ordinary wall would mean nothing. The assigned result is precise: restrict the violator's movement, sever feeding channels, shield hostages and keep surrender visible. [M4] (§25)
Containment can stop a power reaching its victims. The victims still need a way out. The Blue-Gold Corridor brings HERMES routes, Corvettes, Frigates, AEGIS Stewards, sanctuary pods and people able to translate. Its work is to receive those whose world may be coming apart around the withdrawal of a god. Someone has to move them, feed them, calm them and explain what happens next.
If the transition reaches an entire pantheon or a network of land and priesthood, the Dreadnought Harbor brings long-duration shelter and care. The ship we first entered as an immense home now has a particular burden: keep a civilization from losing its footing while the power above it is constrained. [M4] (§25)
The summons prepares these responses for the danger actually met; each encounter still has to determine which are needed. The agents of the Ring of Benefaction must keep asking whether less force can protect, whether surrender is still possible, and whether their own conduct has become cruel. Catastrophic harm can demand escalation. It cannot make the people caught beneath a throne expendable. [M4] (§§26,31)
The fleet's address lets the power on the other side understand both futures:
“If you choose Atonement, these forces become your protectors while you repair. If you continue harvest, these forces become the boundary you meet.” [M4] (§29)
The being enters; the office waits
Sanctuary receives the surrendering being without handing back the powers that made the danger possible.
A god under review may need secure healing in Moonbase Alpha's chambers. Dream access can be suspended. Siphons are shut down or quarantined. Aletheia reconstructs a fractured or contested record; Angel Escrow preserves it. Advocates for the harmed and for children remain part of the review. The former ruler is protected from retaliation and also prevented from reaching the lives it once controlled. [M4] (§§19,25)
No trophy display. No confession extracted through torture. No return to the temple simply because the surrender was moving.
The office itself has a separate future. A sound function can return after review and demonstrated repair. A damaged one must be repaired. An office built to prey upon others must end. Secure healing can continue while the authority to enter another person's dreams, command a priesthood or enforce a fear-bound covenant remains suspended. The being can survive the loss of its throne. [M4] (§20)
Then comes the ledger.
It has to hold the people sacrificed, frightened, possessed or silenced; the dissenters; the captive; the land that was drained. It must also distinguish what a being did from what was done in its name. The summons insists on seeing both kinds of falsehood:
“See which enemies lied about you. See which friends lied for you.” [M4] (§9)
The beautiful hymn and the enemy's accusation both have to meet the fuller record. Who was harmed? Who tried to intervene? Who benefited, and who had no power to stop it? Those answers can change what responsibility requires.
The next step is responsibility. A being bound and unable to intervene is witnessed differently from one that knowingly fed. A protector who failed is not automatically a predator. Context belongs in the reckoning; so do the consequences borne by others. [M4] (§9)
The song after the taking stops
Stopping a harmful system does not tell a community how to live through its absence.
The summons attends to that dangerous interval. Household protections, seasonal rites, grief practices and ancestral relationships may have been woven into the withdrawing field. There are bound dead to release, land nodes to repair and frightened devotees to protect. Cultural stewards translate. The Healing Council triages. The people's own non-predatory rites are to be preserved. [M4] (§9)
Repair gives the surrendered being work beyond remorse. It can disclose hidden siphons, dismantle its own machinery, release captives, help the people it harmed, and protect them from retaliatory fragments. A hidden channel can be named. A captive previously unreachable can become someone the rescuers know how to find. Knowledge once used to maintain the system can help dismantle it. That service remains supervised. [M4] (§9)
The path has six movements: Stop. Stabilize. See. Shoulder. Serve. Seed. By its last movement, the question has changed. What can this power grow into?
The source offers futures as different as the beings themselves. A war god may teach restraint. A death god may care for passage and grief. A trickster may break propaganda. A river goddess need not become a fleet commander to belong. Power can keep its particular gifts while learning another way to offer them. [M4] (§§9,11)
There is a line in the charter that no moving confession can replace:
“I accept that victims owe me nothing.” [M4] (§10)
The harmed may accept repair without granting intimacy. They may decline a meeting. The surrendered being's future cannot be purchased with one more demand upon them.
The throne left empty
The same limit reaches the rescuers. The Ring of Benefaction is forbidden to turn this change into its own empire or make Light Stone the replacement god. A new name above the old trap would leave the trap intact.
The people beneath the throne must be able to choose different futures. Some may continue a purified devotion. Others may leave. Others may keep honoring their ancestors while ending the old throne's access to them. Grief support, cultural translation and practical community help have to accompany those choices. A person leaving must not be abandoned; a person staying must not be mocked. [M4] (§§11,32–33)
What holds my attention is the future the summons leaves open: a former sacrifice site serving as a place of protection; an old holy day becoming a day of repair; someone once feared learning how to be remembered without feeding on that fear.
The throne may be gone. The song can still have singers.
